How Flywheel Training Works

1

Generate Force

User applies force by pulling or pushing against the flywheel, just like lifting a weight.

2

Resistance Adapts

The greater the effort the greater the force, automatically adapting to the user's output.

3

Resist The Return

Control the return of the flywheel back to its initial position, eccentrically loading the working muscles.

4

Repeat & Adapt

Stimulate superior muscular adaptations compared to traditional gravity-based strength training methods.

Variable Resistance

Resistance automatically adjusts to the user's effort, providing constant challenge through both concentric and eccentric phases.

Accessible for All Levels

Whether you're rehabbing, training youth athletes, supporting aged care, or pushing elite performers, Exerfly adapts to all ages, abilities, and goals.

Enhanced Neural Drive

Rapid transitions between eccentric and concentric phases help improve motor unit recruitment and explosive power.

Superior Metabolic Conditioning

High time-under-tension and eccentric loading demands more from the body, boosting endurance and energy efficiency.

Common Questions

What is flywheel training?

Flywheel training uses a spinning flywheel instead of traditional weights to create resistance. When you push or pull, you unwind the rope and accelerate the flywheel; the harder you push, the faster it spins and the more resistance you create. As the rope rewinds, the flywheel pulls you back with the same force in the opposite direction, so you must brake and control the movement eccentrically.

This creates a 1:1 relationship between the concentric and eccentric phases, providing constant, adaptive resistance throughout the full range of motion.

Who is Exerfly for?

Essentially, anyone! From rehab patients and elderly users to high-performance athletes. Exerfly's resistance is entirely user-defined through inertia, automatically scaling to your effort and strength, making it safe and effective across the spectrum with minimal adjustments needed.

What makes Exerfly different from other flywheel devices?

Exerfly stands out from other flywheel devices as the only system delivering true eccentric overload through optional Motorized Technology, enabling up to 80% eccentric overload on every rep. Exerfly products provide more loading capacity than any competitor with up to 0.8 kgm² of inertia (8x large flywheels) available at once. Most importantly, every unit is built to stand the test of high-use environments with the highest standard of American manufacturing, crafted locally in Wisconsin.

Does Exerfly offer setup help or post-purchase support?

Yes. Every Exerfly customer is paired with a dedicated applied sport scientist from day one. They are your main point of contact, providing onboarding resources and the option to book 1-on-1 setup calls. After that, you’ll receive free check-ins with your sport scientist every 90 days to ensure a smooth integration of Exerfly into your environment.
